Customised ink-receptive and adhesive coatings for print substrates. We formulate materials that behave precisely the way you need them to.

G3S Group: Bespoke Print Material Coating

From initial laboratory concept to fully validated commercial production, we ensure your custom-coated substrates perform precisely as intended.

G3S combines over 30 years of material science and coating chemistry expertise with precision roll-to-roll liquid coating capabilities to deliver bespoke surface solutions. By mastering water-based coating chemistries and advanced multi-zone drying controls, we modify how your films, papers, and foils bond, print, and protect—giving you a stable, predictable, and highly repeatable supply chain.

Compatible Substrates

Papers, films, foils, and specialised multi-layered constructions.

Application Freedom: Create custom substrates, including PVC-free graphics and bespoke labelstocks, without juggling multiple material vendors.

Maximum Coating Width

Web widths up to 1550 mm.

Commercial Conversion: Perfectly matched to standard wide-format graphic and industrial printing dimensions to maximise material yield.

Coating Technologies

Reverse Gravure, Meyer Rod, transfer, and direct coating. Oscillating Kadant doctoring system for defect-free laydown. Wet thicknesses from 5 to 120 microns.

Flawless Laydown: Active doctoring combined with precision mechanics eliminates physical coating streak defects and ensures uniform thickness across the entire web run.

Coating Chemistry

Sustainable aqueous (water-based) chemistries including polyacrylate, polyurethane, pressure-sensitive, heat-activated, and microsphere systems.

Regulatory-Compliant Performance: Delivers high-performance adhesion or functional properties using water-based chemistry, bypassing solvent restrictions.

Surface Performance

Inkjet (dye/pigment), UV, Latex, Eco-Solvent, Indigo, and Laser-receptive topcoats. High-opacity blockout (TiO2-filled grey) systems.

Vibrant, Waste-Free Printing: Surfaces formulated for specific ink carriers, preventing bleed and ensuring absolute adhesion during high-speed printing.

Process Control

Three-zone indirect gas-fired drying with in-line Teknek web cleaning.

Contamination-Free Stability: In-line cleaning removes micro-dust before the liquid hits the web, while multi-zone drying precisely controls moisture evaporation to prevent cracking, curling, or blistering.

Roll Capacity

Maximum unwind/rewind Ø 1000 mm.

Longer Runs, Less Downtime: High-diameter capacity means fewer roll changes on your finishing machinery, keeping your high-speed production lines moving continuously.

Product Development

Full Concept-to-Scale Pipeline: Laboratory formulation, prototyping, pilot machine trials, and bulk QC validation.

De-Risked Commercial Scaling: We test in a controlled environment first, ensuring your bulk commercial orders work perfectly on day one.

Laboratory & QC Validation

In-house laboratory performance testing certified to international FINAT standards (FTM 1 & FTM 2 Peel Adhesion, FTM 9 Loop Tack) for all self-adhesive and pressure-sensitive formulations.

Adhesion Validation: Standardised FINAT testing provides verifiable proof of initial grab, long-term bond strength, and clean removability before full-scale commercial roll conversion.

Industry Experience

Graphics (floor/wall vinyl, pop-up media), integrated business forms, contract coating, and custom industrial applications.

A Proven Blueprint: We apply over three decades of operational knowledge from highly regulated and demanding sectors directly to your product.

Quality Management

ISO 9001:2015: Continuous improvement operational framework backed by certified quality management systems.

Consistency: ISO-certified processes deliver batch-to-batch repeatability, full material traceability, and continuous quality audits across every production run.
